Family Photo Inspiration

This is my favorite time of year! We are not quite into the full swing of the holidays yet so I can still focus on one thing at a time (in our home holidays overlap with birthdays and anniversaries…it’s chaotic).

Family Photos is one of my favorite things to do every year.  We don’t take tons of pics as a family throughout the year and I don’t have any from my childhood so these are so special to me.  We don’t have to have a professional but I do like to try to coordinate our clothes and find someone else to show up with a nicer camera than I have to take our photo.  I’m in the process of searching for some inspiration in our new home town but thought I would share what we’ve done in the past in case anyone else is looking for inspiration as well.

We went with black and white and then C had the accent red sweater vest.

I was inspired by some photos I saw online to dress up and take pics outside so that’s what we did.  We all got new clothes and kept with the black and white theme but I love the lighting and scenery for these photos.

This year I wanted some color so we went with violet, blue and white for our clothes.

I felt more adventurous this year and I think I knew it would be our last year in San Diego so I wanted to make sure we got some family pictures by the beach.  My friend Ansley was working on her portfolio and warned us that she didn’t have much experience with beach shoots but I think she did an AMAZING job and these are some of our most favorite pics!  I also want to share the inspiration for our photo shoot because I was so inspired by this beautiful family and their photo shoot shown here by Images of Grace Photography!
